Maureen Maryann Snovel of Chesapeake City, MD, age 80, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019. She was born on July 18, 1938 in Norristown, PA to the late James William Musselman and Sarah Mildred (Bloomer) Musselman.
Maureen liked to crochet, do crossword puzzles, play solitaire and cultivate her flower gardens. She enjoyed vacationing in Rehoboth Beach and watching people go by while swinging on her porch swing. Maureen’s greatest joy and the most important thing in her life was her family. She was a mom to everyone. Maureen often would have the family over to eat and she could catch up on the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maureen is survived by her five children: Reenie (Bill) Malay, Kim (Jay) Jourdan, Ed (Patty) Snovel, Jr., Don (Barb) Snovel and Jim Snovel; nine grandchildren: Nicole Genery, Lindy Poore, Kolbi Martin, AJ Jourdan IV, JoJo Cavallaro, Michael Snovel, Shane Snovel, Kara Snovel and Kevin Rossen; nine great-grandchildren: Zoey Cavallaro, Skye Cavallaro, Daniel Poore, Addison Poore, Anthony Martin, Junior Dean, Lexi Lee, Hadlee Snovel and Lilly Kate Rossen; and longtime friend, Alice Donovan.
In addition to her parents, Maureen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the love of her life, Edward Daniel Snovel, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Terry Snovel; two grandchildren: Mickey Genery, Jr. and Earl Martin; and two great-grandchildren: Baby Angel Genery and Lance Rossen.
A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 31, 2019 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915, where family and friends may begin visiting at 1pm. Interment will be held privately.
