Matthew L. Butensky, age 34, of Stewartstown, PA, and formerly of North East, MD, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013. He was born on September 27, 1978 in Voorhees, NJ to Walter and Nancy (McLaughlin) Butensky of Clarksville, TN and North East, MD.
Matthew was known for his positive personality and sense of humor. His ability to make anyone laugh brought joy to each person he encountered. He always had a means of cheering up his coworkers at IKEA, and helping them get through tough days at work. Matthew loved playing with his son and was an avid supporter of the Baltimore Ravens. He enjoyed listening to music, especially Jimmy Buffett and Pink Floyd.
In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his son, Peyton Butensky; sisters, Karrie Hiotakis and husband Thomas of Somerdale, NJ, and Rebecca Sexton and husband Joseph of Elkton, MD; nieces, Alexis and Tori Hiotakis and Julie Sexton; nephew Dylan Hiotakis; companion Amanda Romeo of Stewartstown, PA; and step-daughters, Racheal Downie and Destini Romeo.
Matthew was preceded in death by his brother, Robert J. Butensky in 1975.
Services will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit two hours prior beginning at 5PM.
