Matilda Gayo, age 92, of Elkton, MD formerly of Reisterstown, MD passed away on December 26, 2012 at Abbey Manor in Elkton, MD. Maltilda was born in Baltimore, MD on February 24, 1920 to the late Andrew & Ursule (Stepanavicius) Balsis.
Matilda was loved by everyone at Abbey Manor where she resided for the past 5 years. She was a beloved grandmother.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Christine Townsend of Newark, DE; grandson, Stephen Shaffer of Arlington, VA; niece, Victoria (Vicky) Zittle of Linthicum, MD.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Conrad and second husband, Nicolas Gayo; daughter, Joyce Louise Conrad; sister, Victoria Zittle.
A service will be held at 10:00am on December 28, 2012 at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 where family and friends may call one hour prior. Burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Westminster, MD.
