Mary S. Finley (87) of Newark, Delaware passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023, after a long illness, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 12, 1935, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (nee, Long) Llewellyn and the beloved wife of 36 years to Francis Finley.
Mary was a jack of many trades, working as a Waitress, Dispatcher for an Alarm Company, and a Refurbishing Technician for the Franklin Mint to name a few. In her younger days she was a competitive Bowler, playing alongside her sister in Tournaments across the country. She also enjoyed fishing, boating, playing Bingo and was an avid Card Player. Mary was a huge fan of both Horror movies and Laurel & Hardy. She especially loved spending time with her family and traveling to Florida with her husband during the winter months. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Finley and her 11 older siblings.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Francis Finley; four children: Ken (Sandra) Marcheski of Pennsylvania, Steven (Angela) Finley of South Carolina, Kathy (Dan) Guzzo of Pennsylvania and Sue (Bill) Mossman of Pennsylvania; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of Mary’s life will be held by the family.
