Mary Lou Varville, age 80, of Conowingo, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026. She was born on January 31, 1946, in Leominster, MA, to the late Bernard Mondville and Marie Louise (Quinlan) Proulx.
Mary Lou had a true gift for crafting and creating things by hand. Many of the gifts she gave to family and friends were lovingly made by her, each one a reflection of the care and thought she put into making others feel special. The holiday season held a special place in her heart, and her handmade creations became treasured keepsakes for those who received them. Mary Lou enjoyed shopping, plants, gardening and found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life.
Above all else, Mary Lou cherished her family and friends. She valued time spent together, laughter shared, and memories made, and her love for those closest to her was evident in all that she did. Mary Lou will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and the heartfelt love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Jessica Buckingham; grandchildren: Kelsey Buckingham, Jenna Buckingham, and Megan Buckingham; great-grandchildren: Leah McAvoy, Olivia McAvoy, Brennah Bennett, Landon Bennett, and Tanner Bennett; brother, Martin Proulx; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Mondville and sister, Paula Brammer.
Services of Mary Lou will be held privately.
