Mary E. Neave

Mary E. Neave, age 89, from Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024. She was born on December 11, 1934, in Wilmington, DE to the late Harry Neave and Annie (Fulton) Neave.

Mary worked for many years as a clerk at the University of Delaware. She enjoyed spending time watching tennis and following many games. In her younger years, Mary travelled around the world. Mary cherished her lunches with her sister, sharing laughter and good times. She was a caring sister and aunt who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her sister, Anne Louise Foster; brother, Harry Neave and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Rebecca Everett.

At the convenience of the family, services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to the “American Heart Association” sent in care of the R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.

I remember "Little Mary" fondly. She was kind to my mother and I when my father was overseas. One memory of her is how she could stay on the beach all day baking in the sun, reading a book while taking occasional dips in the ocean to cool off. On one of Mary's many trips she and my Grandmother visited my parents in Germany right after I was born. She was very independent and asked no one for anything. Rest in peace Little Mary, tell dad and Mommom I love and miss them.
