Mary Elizabeth Anders age 86 of Darlington, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born on March 4, 1937, in Havre de Grace, MD to the late William Walter Absher, and Martha Elvira (Barker) Absher.

Mary and her late husband Donald who were married for 64 years, were devout Christians and lived their faith to the fullest. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Rising Sun, MD. Mary worked as an Elementary Teacher in the Harford County Public Schools for more than 20 years.  She enjoyed riding with her husband, Donald on his Harley, through all 50 states and Canada and making lifelong friends along the way. Mary enjoyed making jewelry and loved spending time with her family. Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her two sons: Ron Anders (Sheila), and Larry D. Anders (Lori); grandchildren: Rhonda Willen, Larry Anders Jr., Ashley Brown, Andrew Anders, and Jack Anders; and great grandchildren: Madalyn, Nevin, Kate, Ava, and Shelby; brother, Charles Absher; sister, Charlotte LaBelle; and her grand pup, Piper.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Anders; son, Gary Ray Anders; and daughter, Donna Marie Anders.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on September 22, 2023 at Conowingo Baptist Church, 151 Rock Springs Road, Conowingo, MD 21918, where friends and family may begin visiting at 1:00 pm.
