Mary Cutlip Martin, age 92 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born on August 15, 1931, in Summersville, WV to the late Arnon Lee Cutlip, and Maymie Pearle (Neal) Cutlip.

Mary was a dedicated wife and mother. She treasured and embraced every moment of being a stay-at-home mom. Mary enjoyed spending time creating delicious meals and baking for her family.  She took immense pleasure in volunteering, helping people, and caring for her church family. Mary had a vivacious personality, earning her the nickname “Ornery Mary”.  She was very easy going, loved to make people laugh, would joke with everyone and was like a second mom to many.  Mary will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her son, Terry Martin; and granddaughter, Stephanie Martin.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Martin; siblings: Randall Cutlip, Delbert Cutlip, Liber Cutlip, Paul Cutlip, Retha Cutlip, Bonny Reed, Madeline Wagner, Verla Mangum, and Carline Tunney.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 11:00 am on September 25, 2023, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Nottingham PA.
