Mary Anne Terrell, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on April 3, 1935, in Elkton, MD, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert L. McKeown, Sr. and Edith L. (Realey) McKeown.
Mary Anne’s first job was as an Administrative Assistant at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. Her life was a tapestry of creativity and love. Her passion for crafts, particularly needlepoint and ceramics, was evident to all who knew her. In the 1970s, she brought her artistic flair to life by establishing her own ceramic shop in Hagerstown, MD, where she delighted in sharing her talent with the community. Among her many skills, Mary Anne was renowned for crafting her family’s Christmas stockings and for her baking prowess, especially her delectable chocolate chip cookies and cherished Christmas treats.
An avid lover of the seaside, Mary Anne found solace and joy in the sights and sounds of Ocean City, MD, particularly relishing strolls along the boardwalk. Yet, above all else, Mary Anne’s heart belonged to her family, and she found her greatest fulfillment in being a devoted grandmother. Her warmth and kindness endeared her to all who crossed her path, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
