Martin Joseph Stajkowski (“Marty”), age 59, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Born August 7, 1959 in Wilmington, DE, Martin was the son of the late Stanley Frank Stajkowski and the late Sophie O. (Cerkownuk) Stajkowski.

Martin graduated from Ohio State University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. His career path led him to KBR in Newark, DE where he worked as an Electrical Control Systems Engineer. A follower of the Catholic faith, Martin loved spending time outdoors in God’s creation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and visiting the beach. Most notably, he enjoyed his time spent in Lewes and at the Indian River Inlet. His most cherished time however, was spent with his family, friends and his beloved wife. He will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

Martin is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Laura; four brothers: Stanley Stajkowski, Jr., Tom Stajkowski and his wife, Lynn, Steve Stajkowski and his wife, Lucy and Bob Stajkowski; three sisters: Pat Atallian and her husband, Al, Sue Huff and her husband, Ron and Judy Dierkes and her husband, Chris. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to Heartland Hospice for your special care you gave Martin the past couple weeks, we will be forever grateful for your help during that time. Also, special thank you to Christiana Care Radiology Unit, you are like family to us and the past few years you have shown us unbelievable care. Thank you for keeping us smiling every week and showing you truly care.

A celebration of Martin’s life will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, April 5, 2019 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10AM.
