Marjorie W. Brakeall

Marjorie W. Brakeall, 94, a resident of Rising Sun MD since 1952, passed away Wednesday August 15, 2012 at Union Hospital.

Born in Cumberland, MD on November 9, 1917, Marjorie was the daughter of the late John H and Mary Ann Knouse Wolfe. She was a homemaker and also co-owner of Brakeall’s Sunoco Gas Station. Marjorie was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and had a remarkable talent of remembering everyone’s birthdays. She was devoted to her family and a diehard optimist with a wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas E. Brakeall of Hawthorne Wood, IL and John R. Brakeall of Chadds Ford, PA; daughters Alice Van Pelt of Seattle, WA and Jane Kuehn of Crawfordville, GA and a brother Henry Wolfe of Baltimore, MD; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas G. Brakeall who died in 2001 and 7 brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Queen St. in Rising Sun on Monday August 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Sunday August 19 from 2- 4 pm. Burial will be in Brookview Cemetery.

We were friends of Marge & Tom since we moved here from Va, 33 years ago. She was always glad to see us. She would call me child. We will miss her. May Songs of the Angels take Marge Home to See the Face of God. May the family soon replace the pain of her loss to joyful memories of her Love. God Bless, Linda & Jim O'Rourke

What a terrible loss to those who knew and loved Marg but take comfort in the remembrance of her warmth, laughter and smiles.

She was the most cheerful person I ever met in my life. I liked buying gas at Brakealls just to visit with Marjorie. Tom was quite pleasant too! Rising Sun will be a little emptier now.
