Marjorie Ruth (Stubbs) Austin of Chesapeake City, MD, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 9, 2025. She was born on November 30, 1932 in Elkton, MD to the late Taylor Sharp Stubbs, Sr. and Wilda Adeline (McCauley) Stubbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Nelson Stubbs; and her husband: Harry Austin.

Marge and Harry, a United States Navy veteran, together owned and managed Hacks Point Marina. Marge continued at the marina for another 6 years following Harry’s death in 1973. Later she worked at Back Creek General Store in Chesapeake City until retiring at the age of 82. She loved playing cards with friends and family, had a huge interest in politics, and enjoyed watching old black and white movies. Marge was a lifetime Auxiliary member at the Chesapeake City VFW.

Marge is survived by her sister Dolores Ford of Warwick, brother, Taylor Stubbs, Jr. of Galena; Four nephews: Harry Kennedy of North East, Sidney Ford of Galena, Michael Ford and Daniel Ford of Warwick; two great-nephews: Daniel Ford, Jr. Jacob Ford; and great-niece, Lindsay Ford.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD. A luncheon will follow at Chesapeake City VFW, 304 Basil Ave, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
