Marilyn Marie Bland, age 81, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025. She was born on February 26, 1944, in Wilmington, DE to the late Walter Milsom, Sr. and Marie Daisey (Bailey) Milsom.
Marilyn was a beloved daughter, friend, and companion who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her good sense of humor and her personable nature, which made her a joy to be around.
In her younger years, Marilyn enjoyed horseback riding and even owned her own horse, a testament to her adventurous spirit. She shared many beautiful moments snowmobiling with her husband, William, creating lasting memories together. Marilyn and her husband also enjoyed spending time on the water, taking their boat on many boating adventures.
Shopping was another of Marilyn’s passions, particularly at the Lancaster Outlets, where she often found joy in discovering great deals. However, it was the time spent visiting with friends and family that truly filled her heart.
Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her brothers: Richard “Dick” Milsom and his wife, LaVernon, and David Milsom and his wife, Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by husband, William Bland; and brothers: Walter Milsom, Jr., and Robert Milsom.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
