Marie Elliott

Marie Elliott, age 84, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021. She was born in Chester, PA on August 8, 1936 to the late John M. Scope and Mary (Dzuibczynski) Scope.

Marie was an avid bingo player. She loved mowing her grass and working in the flower beds. Marie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Marie is survived by her son, Michael Elliot and his wife, Jean of North East, MD; three grandchildren: Jason Elliott of North East, MD, Lauren Poteet of Chesapeake City, MD, and Ashley Mahaffey of Earlville, MD; six great-grandchildren: Darren Gorman, Rayne Poteet, Dylan Mahaffey, Sheamus Mahaffey, Keagan Mahaffey, and Colton Elliott; sister, Patsy Manko of Dover, DE; and two sister-in-law’s, Rina Scope, of Lincoln University, PA and Carol Melchior (Elliott) from Dagsboro DE.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Wounded Warriors Project” and sent in care of the funeral home, R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George Street, P.O. Box 27, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
