Marian Renee Patterson

Marian Renee Patterson, 35, of Bear, DE, passed away suddenly on June 22, 2012.

Marian was born in Lewes, DE on May 19, 1977 and graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1995. A stay at home mother and homemaker, she was an active leader with Troop 34 of the Girl Scouts as well as an involved parent at her children’s schools and activities. She was a gifted artist and loved teaching and doing crafts with her children, nieces and nephews. Marian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was known for her generous giving ways. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. All our hearts and lives were enriched by her.

Marian is survived by her loving husband David W. Patterson of Bear; her daughter Maggie and her son Boe; her parents Jacqueline Savin Searles and William Searles of Elkton, MD; her brothers Frank Savin and his wife Michele of Hockessin, Jonathan Freeman of Austin, TX, Jason Breault of Wilmington, DE and Bill Searles, Jr. of Laurel Springs, NJ; her sister Corinne Searles of Hoboken, NJ; her grandmother Marie Savin of Milford, DE; her loving in-laws Sandy and Wayne Patterson of Newark, DE, and Barbara and Evan Al-Chokhachy of Las Vegas, NV.; and her loving aunt Peg and uncle Ted Short and cousin Stephanie of Milford, DE. Marian was the loving Aunt Mimi to Kymber Savin, Simone Freeman, Gregory Savin and Marie Short. Marian had a large extended family who shared her loving, gentle presence. She was preceded in death by her adoring grandfather John Savin, Jr.

A service honoring her life will be held at Cornerstone Church 3135 Summit Bridge Road Bear, DE 19701 on Saturday June 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
