Marian M. “Mim” Baughman, 84, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully January 15, 2015 at Union Hospital.
Born in West Grove, PA on December 1, 1930, Marian was the daughter of the late James and Ola Blankenship McCardell. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School and worked as an office manager for a landscaping company. She was very interested in genealogy and she built her own website (www.familythingsbymim.org). She was talented in interior design and was able to find beauty in everything. Marian enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of the Rising Sun Historical Society. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.
Surviving are her four children, Merle Baughman (Sandy) of Seven Valleys, PA, Mike Baughman (Deanna) of Conowingo, MD, Rhonda Hall (Ronald) of Elkton, MD, and Bobby Baughman of York, PA; 4 grandchildren, Shawni Stapleford (Chuck), Angie Hartman (Stephen), Chris Jenkins and Lyric Baughman; two sisters Nancy Cumm (Jeff) and Cheryl Thompson (Bruce) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert who died in 1968 and her brother Roger McCardell.
A graveside service will be held Saturday January 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at West Nottingham Cemetery.

My mother D. Jean Garvin-Fusco & Marian were the best of friends from their very young yrs. in Rising Sun, Md. to the day of my mom's passing last Jan. 23, 2014. I'm Jean's oldest daughter, Michele. I remember going to The McCardle's house & meeting Marian's parents & siblings. My mom loved going to their home. She loved the McCardle Family. I remember going to Marian's house several times & being w/ all of you. Marian would bring her children to our house as well. In later yrs., Marian, Rhonda, my mom & I all went out to lunch & to The Concord Mall in De. Rhonda, I didn't know how to get in touch w/ you or your mom to let your mom know of my mother's death. I grieve w/ all of you. Losing our parents is most difficult. My thoughts & Prayers are w/ all of you. Marian was always a very dear sweet & humble lady. She & my parents & brother Ted are in a much better place than us. I can picture our mom's laughing & joking as they walk the streets of gold. There's no need for us to say good-by to them.
