Margaret Helen Tuggle Ward, age 80, of St. Georges, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was born in Hayter’s Gap, VA on July 15, 1943, to the late Garland Edward Carbary and Mary Maggie (Moore) Carbary.
Margaret was an active member of Elkton First Baptist Church for nearly 30 years, representing the true spirit of a Christian. She had many passions and talents, from sewing quilts for her family to the thrill of catching an 8 lb. flounder, an achievement that earned her an award and made her proud. Margaret loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing, going on walks, playing horseshoes, or bowling with her family. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting family. Margaret was a beautiful, loving, generous, caring, and compassionate person, her presence brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her sons: Melvin Tuggle, Jr. (Kathleen), and John Tuggle (Dana); daughters: Mary Dellavecchio (Robert), and Nancy Feher (Edward); 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Alma Jean Parcell, and brother, Kenneth Carbary.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Tuggle, Sr.; second husband, Lloyd Leon Ward; great-grandchild, Al-Hafeez Wilson; siblings: Cora Terry, James Carbary, Shirley Carbary, Hazel Terry, and Peggy Warren.
Funeral service for Margaret will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM, at R.T. Foard and Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Kemblesville United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to the “Delaware Hospice” or “Elkton First Baptist Church” and sent in care of the funeral home.
