Margaret “Hazel” Billings, 70, of Darlington, MD, passed away March 16, 2014 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD.
Born in Pilottown, MD on June 20, 1943, Hazel was the daughter of the late Chester and Lula Mae Simpson Hagan. She worked as a seamstress at Bata Shoe CO., Maryland Canvas and Razzmatazz Handbags. She also was a waitress at the Bridge Diner in Havre de Grace, MD. Hazel will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Surviving are three sons, John Albert Griffey of Bel Air, MD, Frankie Wayne Griffey of Darlington, and Thomas William Griffey of Pylesville, MD; four daughters, Kimberly Kay Walker of Appomattox, VA, Ruth Cox of Darlington, MD, Donna Eccelt of Cape Coral, FL and Terry Billings of Middle River, MD; two sisters, Shirley Price of Havre de Grace, and Lena Knight of Rising Sun, MD; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George O. Billings who passed away in 1999.
A service honoring her life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Saturday March 22, 2014 at 11:00. A visitation will take place Friday evening March 21, 2014 from 6-8:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery.
