Margaret Ann Hibben

On July 23, 2014, we lost a wife and friend to many. Ann Hibben passed away, after a courageous battle of several months of illness.

Born Margaret Ann Dunphy to Edward and Margaret Dunphy in Manhattan, NY, she graduated with honors from Cathedral high school and earned a degree in Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute. Ann met Rod, the love of her life, in 1963 and they were married in 1964. After many years at McGraw-Hill, she and Rod traveled our beautiful country and the world, before settling down in Elkton, MD.

Ann enjoyed reading and exercising at the Newark Senior Center. She loved a good conversation with whoever would join her, as she peddled the stationary bike.

She is survived by her husband, Roderick Hibben of Elkton and her sister Ellen Dunphy of Riverdale, NY.

Rod wishes to thank the nurses and attendants of the Independent Home-Care of Maryland for their kind and loving care given to Ann during these past few months.

Per Ann’s request, burial will be private. Rest in Peace Ann – “You gave it your best shot.”
