Lynn Robert “Bob” Hibbitts, Sr., age, 70 of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Genesis Healthcare Brackenville in Hockessin DE. Born on December 31, 1945 in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Ballard and Audrey (Bolton) Hibbitts.

Bob worked in the parts department for several auto dealers including, Quillen Brothers Ford, Sheehy Ford and Kirkwood Dodge. A passionate football fan, he followed his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers through the highs and lows. He was a simple man who enjoyed the many simple pleasures in life, including fishing, be it at a lake, bay, or an ocean. His greatest joys came from spending time with his family and friends. He was best known for having a “hardy laugh that was contagious”, and will be missed by all.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, CarolAnn (Pyle) of Newark, DE; son, L. Robert “Bob” Hibbitts, Jr., and his wife, Tina of Shippensburg, PA; two brothers, Emory Hibbitts and his wife, Joanne of Newark, DE and Glen Hibbitts of New Castle, DE; a sister, Janice Vickers and her husband, Ron of Townsend, DE; grandson, Bryson Hibbitts; and granddaughters, Amanda and Olivia Hibbitts.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother Larry Hibbitts.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.
