Lula I. Pierce, age 96 of Conowingo, MD passed away surrounded by her family on August 8, 2018. She was born on August 3, 1922 in Helen, West Virginia to the late Henry Eastridge and Etta (Roark) Eastridge.
Lula was very family oriented and was known for her famous Sunday family dinners. She had a kind heart and made sure to support her family when they needed her the most. Lula took care of her family and her home. In her spare time, she loved to tend to her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a member of Porters Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed church fellowship and reading the Bible.
Lula is survived by her sons: William Lee Pierce and his wife, Irene of Conowingo, MD and Dennis Everett Pierce and his wife, Phyllis of Quarryville, PA; daughters: Bertha Elizabeth Sheets of Conowingo, MD and Arlene Alice Stemple and her husband, David of Rising Sun, MD; eleven grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lee Pierce; brother, Earvil Eastridge; sister, Oval Broomall; and son, Baby Randy.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 6:00-8:00PM at Porters Grove Baptist Church, 478 Connelly Road, Rising Sun, MD 21911. A celebration of Lula’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Porters Grove Baptist Church where family and friends can visit at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Brookview Cemetery. In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Porters Grove Baptist Church” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248 Rising Sun, MD 21911.
