Gertrude “Lucy” Spangler aged 76, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 21, 1936 in Grant Twp., PA to the late Darrell and Olive (Kidd) Kerr.
A devoted wife and mother, Lucy spent much of her life caring and giving to her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
Lucy is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years Ronald, son Kevin D. Spangler of Newark, DE, a brother Donald Kerr, and host of friends and neighbors.
Service will be held 11 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at R.T. Foard & Jones F.H., 122 W. Main St., Newark, De 19711. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, December 14, 2012 and one hour prior to the service. Burial will private. Memorial contributions can be made in Lucy’s honor to Delaware Hospice c/o the funeral home.

You have passed along many things that I will continue to share with my family as they grow up. I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to love and care for you in health and sickness. I remenber when she would take me to the beach and go swimming, and she would alway take me to the beach and collect seashells with me for the first time.
