


































Lowell Douglas (Doug) Howell, Sr., age 84, of Perryville, MD, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. He was born on April 26, 1932, in Pulaski, VA.
Doug worked at Bethlehem Steel as a steel worker for 33 years and retired in 1984. He was also a member of the Lynch Point Social Club in Edgemere, Maryland. He served his country proudly in the army during the Korean War. Doug was dedicated to helping others in need. He was a positive influence and inspired others. He was known as “POP” to those closest to him. Pop liked sitting at Wawa drinking his coffee. He enjoyed “making donations” to Hollywood Casino. Along with Wii bowling, Pop also liked playing on his iPad and taking care of his dogs; Baby and Missy. “Dr. Pepper stock will now be going down.” He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons; Lowell Douglas Howell, Jr., of Perryville, MD and Allan Eugene Howell, and his wife, Terry, of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Donna H. Goodman, and her husband Jackie, of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren, Nicole Howell, Lowell Douglas Howell III, Amy Howell, Ashley Howell, Timothy Howell, Meghan Howell, Kenneth Howell, Jr., Dillon Howell and Christina Cook-Bull; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Diane W. Howell, he is predeceased by his sons; Steven Howell, Kenneth Howell, Sr. and Robert Howell; brothers: William Patton and Earl Patton; sisters: Edna Patton, Virginia Radcliff, Jesse Carr, Ethel Hall, Pauline Grynowicki, and Helen Gravely.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm on Sunday, August 07, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service beginning at 2pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to United Way and sent in c/o the funeral home.
