Louise Fulton Edmanson, 98, a lifelong resident of Newark, passed away at Newark Manor Nursing Home June 8, 2012.
Louise was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Walraven Fulton. She graduated from Newark High School where she played basketball and field hockey. She went to Goldey College where she received her Associates Degree. Following her education, she worked for many years at Continental Diamond Fiber/Budd and then and then worked at Delmarva Power and Light. She was a lifelong member of Newark United Methodist Church. Louise was a fiercely independent woman, who enjoyed the beach, camping and working in her garden. She also played softball and bowled regularly for many years.
She is survived by her son John Edmanson and his wife Sylvia of Ocean View, DE; her granddaughter, Kimberly Frederick and her husband Mark of Smyrna, DE, three great grandchildren, Ryan, Owen and Karianna as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Laura, Mary, Ethel, Margaret, Reba and Annie.
A service honoring her life will be held at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on June 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
