Louise A. McGlothlin, age 85, of Holtwood, PA and formerly of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Hamilton Arms Center in Lancaster, PA. She was born on September 13, 1930, in Zion, MD, to the late Paul R. and Margaret Ward Abrams.
Louise worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Perry Point Veterans Administration until her retirement. She worked the night shift so that she could be at home to tend to her children. She loved gardening, and always had plenty of fresh vegetables for the delicious meals she would cook. An avid reader, Louise also enjoyed crossword puzzles. For many years, she was the local Avon representative.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Grevis, of Delta, PA; her sons, Otis Kenneth McGlothlin, Jr., of Rising Sun, MD, and Richard A. McGlothlin, and his wife, June, of Holtwood, PA; a brother, Jesse Abrams of NJ; sisters, Margaret Jones, of Oxford, PA, Helen Dikas, of Elkton, MD, and Betty Conway, of Rising Sun, MD; grandchildren, Margaret, Otis III, Andrew, Alan, Meekann, Donnie, and Amanda; and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her grandson, Esley “Bubby” Roop III; brothers, Paul Abrams, Jr., and Samuel Abrams, Sr.; and sisters, Jeanne Abrams, Barbara Linzy, and Emily Powell.
A service will be held at 11AM on Monday, November 9, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
