Lou, you were the most approachable senior officer in the entire H-53 community, and you always treated me as you would a friend you'd known forever. You were my friend, and I'm proud of that fact, and you are dearly missed.
CWO3 Gerald (Jerry) Harper Sr. USN Retired
To Lou's family and friends, we still miss Lou very much around the Mobile, AL CSC (changed to CSRA now GDIT) office as he helped transition from Alion to CSC way back when in 2012. We all remember him very fondly.
Farewell, Shipmate. We were so young then back in 1976 when I met you after checking into HM-12. I will never forget your infectious smile and laugh.
So sorry to hear of Lou's passing. I first met Lou on USS Inchon during Blue Harrier in the early 1990s. Lou truly loved his Navy and talked so wonderfully about his family. I remember him talking about Kelly riding her bike alongside during his runs...a proud father indeed.

So sorry to hear of Lou's passing. Spent many years serving together in the AMCM community. Lou could always make you laugh & was not afraid to make the tough decisions as a leader. He will be missed
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
My sincere sympathies to the family. I had the honor to know and work with Lou over many years and issues in the Mine Warfare Community. We were colleagues and sometimes co-conspirators. He was always the professional, loaded with concern for his sailors and the mission. He was blessed with a sense of humor to take himself and others through some rough 'seas'. I last had the pleasure of watching his command during the Blue Harrier 93 prove the USN superiority in Mine CounterMeasures for that time in history. The family can be proud knowing those with whom he served held Lou in high regard and great respect.
Mike Mercer, Charleston, SC
Lou's warmth and infectious smile will be missed. Lou was a wonderful man, a respected Sailor and a great patriot. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lou's family and friends. Larry Kelly
I had the pleasure to work with Lou in his last role on the LCS program. His passing saddens me. I will miss his humor, love of life and positive character. It was a pleasure working with him, and I will surely miss him. He will never be forgotten. May God bless the Morris Family, give you strength during this time. My thoughts are with you. - Tomi Adetunji
Rest in peace, my friend and classmate. You made the world a better place. See you on the other side.
Our heartfelt condolences to the family! Lou was an outstanding naval officer and a great influence in the Air Mine Countermeasures community. Superb leader, always a gentleman. All who knew Lou held him in high regard and are saddened by his passing.
So sad to learn of Lou's passing. While it has been a number of years since I saw Lou, I along with many others had the great privilege to know Lou professionally; like Lou, I had a long career in the Navy as a helicopter pilot, and our paths crossed often. Lou was the ultimate officer and gentleman, and always a pleasure to be with and around. My deepest condolences to you. Sincerely, Gary Jones
I have been a co-worker of Lou's for almost 10 years, and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be around him. His integrity, dedication, positive attitude, energy, enthusiasm, and especially his humor were all gifts for us to enjoy. God Bless Lou and his Family.
I also had the pleasure to work with Lou. His positive attitude was something I will treasure. Someone so special can never be forgotten. God bless the Morris Family.
Rest in Peace Skipper . "Tow Ball Seated Skew is True" We will miss you Scooter
Lou touched a great many lives when he was here in Mobile AL helping us set up the CSC office after the JHSV contract was awarded in March 2012. He was a wonderful, resourceful, clever, warm-hearted person who will be greatly missed. I remember that on the Kentucky Derby of that year (2012) he and I were at the office with the movers setting up all of the desks and chairs all throughout the office and there began my love of the Kentucky Derby. Every year since, I've always touched base with him during the holidays, his birthday, and especially on the first Saturday in May for the Kentucky Derby. How sad am I that this past year was the last Kentucky Derby we will ever get to speak. Sending thoughts and prayers to all of his extended family members with love. Alice Adler
Lou was always positive and upbeat with a never-ending smile. I was fortunate to know Lou in Norfolk and honored that I could call him a friend. A tremendous Navy officer and leader. It is a sad day when the world loses a wonderful man like Lou. God bless.
Lou was a great inspiration to each person his life touched. I graduated with Louis Class of "1970 ". May you rest in pease.
I only knew Louie via Diane. He was in charge of grilling the best hamburgers/hot dogs at our annual Fair Hill Hounds picnic held at Boone's Cabin. When all his pilot friends gather in the forever after see him for your burgers!
I was a young naval officer serving at HelSeaConWingONE when Lou was a new helo pilot within the H53 community. The aircraft were relatively new to the Navy - more capable than any other rotary wing asset in the fleet. It was an exciting time for Airborne Mine Countermeasures and I remember that all three Sea Stallion squadrons were full of dedicated, energetic and courageous pilots. Lou Morris was definitely one of those men. God speed to Lou's family and may his children always take pride in knowing what an incredible naval officer and aviator their dad was. Sandi Jagger Yates Gauthier, CAPT, USN (Ret)
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Diane as well as the rest of Louis' family and friends. What a tremendous loss of a wonderful man.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
I am am in total shock at just learning of the loss of a really terrific friend. I have fond memories of Louie's thoughts on attempting to be a three day event rider..and his first riding lesson... "How tough could it be?" he asked. He had such a positive attitude about life and living... My sincerest condolences to Diane. His loss no doubt has touched all who knew him....
I did not have the honor of meeting Captain Louis Morris, but I did serve along with his daughter-in-law, Tracy Mullins and she became a good friend of mine. I feel a sense of loss in Mr. Morris' passing... not just as a fellow Veteran. My own father (also a US Navy vet) passed away from cancer and can feel a sense of some understanding.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing this special man. Hope all of your memories of him give you comfort in the days and years ahead.
Lou will be sorely missed. He was just an all around nice guy. From the aircraft tech crew at Cecil County/Claremont Airport. Roger Robinson, Stan Hormanski, Jeremy Hamilton, Dave Farmer and Josh Hamilton.
My condolences to the family. He will be misse by many.
Cathy, Susie, Timmy and Tommy, may God comfort you, surround you in his love and bring you peace.
Linda (Price) Byrnes-Wiseman.
Please know that my thoughts are with you Diane.
I was so surprised to hear of Louie's passing. We were classmates and at one point we were neighbors. I was just speaking about him as I often tell the story of how we played around in Mr. Clawson's chemistry class and burned each other on the side of the face. Those were some good old days at Bohemia Manor High School and Louie was very popular. May God be with the Morris family at this difficult time. He is free to spread his wings and continue to fly.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I am a co-worker of Lou's and we have had many conversation together. He was a special person. He will be missed by many.
What a pleasure it was to serve with then Commander Morris. HM-14 and the men who served with him, were in great command with him. Fair winds and following seas Captain Morris.
I did not know Lou real well, however he was good friends with a good friend of mine and I met him a number of times. He was a very interesting individual and always made me feel at home. I will miss him.
Capt. Morris was my CO during my first tour in HM-14. His personality, coupled with his leadership and management style can never be duplicated. He had done so much for our squadron that it can't be listed here. All the memories of Lou "Scooter" Morris are forever etched in our souls.
As far as amazing individuals go, Lou had no equal. It was the best of times serving with him as a junior officer back in HM-14. He was a great leader and an even greater friend. While I'll miss him terribly, I'm sure Heaven just became a much more interesting place.. Rest in peace skipper.
Captain Morris it was an honor to serve with you in HM-12 as one of your maintenance guys. It was also a pleasure to have played softball with you where you where known as Scooter Morris. You will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family...RIP Shipmate.
Lou, you will be truly missed. It was a joy working with you and just talking openly about anything. You always liked to be up in the clouds flying your plane, now you are soaring in the clouds with the Lord. God Bless. Larry Williams
We are sorry for your loss. Louis was a good friend.
Always one to crack a joke, Lou was a treasure to all who worked with him. He will be sorely missed. Hold his memory in your hearts and he will forever be with you.

What a heartbreaking tragedy for all who knew and loved you. Heaven gained an incredible addition without a doubt. You always had a way of making everything positive and making everyone so happy. You will be dearly missed and there is certainly an empty space in my heart as well as many others.
We are so sorry for your loss. We held Lou as a close friend and are happy for the time we had together. I am thankful for having him in our life and all the time we shared in my helicopter. God knows best and may he rest in peace.
RIP Classmate. Thank you for your service. My prayers are with your family and friends. Hoagie '74
