Loraine E. Bergold, age 83, of Rising Sun, MD passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born September 10, 1934 in Somerville, NJ, Loraine was the daughter of the late Earl and Carrie (Ewing) Hartpence.
Loraine was a talented woman who enjoyed the many gifts that life had to offer. Such gifts included gardening, baking, cooking, needlepoint, and sewing. She was an exceptional artist, creating many beautiful oil paintings throughout her life. She also held a deep love for music, finding comfort in a good melody. Loraine’s greatest talent however, was being a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Loraine is survived by her husband of 65 years, Fred Bergold; four children: Alan Bergold, Barbara Hagar, Jeffrey Bergold and Katherine Bowers; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren and her nephew, Kim Handl.
A celebration of Loraine’s life will be held at 3PM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may visit beginning at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “American Diabetes Association” and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
