Lois Jane Adams of Newark, DE, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Lois was born on June 19, 1928 in Monessen, PA to the late Russell H. Dial and Emma Lois (Linn) Dial.
Lois taught American History for Montrose High School and later English at Bel Air High School in Bel Air, MD. She also was a substitute teacher in the Montrose and Bel Air school districts. Lois later worked at the Montrose Public Library for 15 years. She was a member of KKG (Kappa Kappa Gamma) at Bucknell University and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor’s in Spanish and later with a Master’s in American History. She loved traveling to Europe, especially Italy and Great Britain and to Civil War Historical sites throughout the Eastern U.S.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Linn Solano and her husband Paul; son, Hale Adams; grandchildren: Amy and Alexis Solano; brother-in-law, Edrick Adams and his wife Judy. In addition to Lois’ parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Adams.
Services for Lois will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to “Multiple Sclerosis Association of America” and sent in care of R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.
