I was so saddened to hear of Lisa's passing. Although we had lost touch over the years, we were the best of friends as children and then teenagers. We had such great, crazy, fun times! And we got into our share of mischief as well. . . .we really brought out the nuttiness in each other! I'll never forget all the fun we had playing with our barbies and all of our youth group friends! I feel so fortunate to have known and been friends with Lisa. She was special in my life, and gone too soon. Rest in peace, my friend.

Lisa really did move a rubber tree plant. And we all watched in awe as she overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles with grace and dignity and a never-ending appreciation for life. All the while, consoling the rest of us for our concern, and assuaging our awkwardness when we didn't know what to say or do. She was my college roommate. My forever friend. I'm so blessed to have known her for most of my life, and I will miss her for the rest of it.

Doug and Zachary and Mackenzie, Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for Lisa. A nicer, kinder woman than many I have known. We shared a lot through the years as I am a cancer survivor! Doug, I always loved laughing with you and sending counselor notes back and forth. You are one of a kind. I would be there with you all but 2 months ago we sold our DE home and moved to Florida. Lisa knew how hard we were trying to get the house sold, and it finally happened. My tears have come and gone, and the memories will always be fresh in my mind. With loving and heartfelt sympathy, Barbara and Joe Nolan, Friends/colleagues

Irish funeral Prayer Death is nothing at all, It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Everything remains as it was.The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name.Speak of me in the easy way, which you always used to, put no sorrow in your tone. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, and pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again. You will be missed my friend, Godspeed.
