Lisa Edwards, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Elkton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 59.  Born in Elkton, Maryland, on March 1, 1964, to Carol Traurig (née, Toy) and the late Joseph A. Traurig, Lisa was the fourth of six daughters.

Lisa was a graduate of Newark High School, class of 1982. After working in various settings, she ultimately began a 27-year career at Christiana Hospital as an administrative assistant. Lisa loved the beach and liked to spend summer days walking along the shore or strolling the boardwalk. She was also an avid doll collector. More than anything, she was a devoted mother, loving daughter and caring sister. Lisa will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Edwards, of Dover, Delaware and her fiancé, Jon Biggs-Moore; son, Benjamin Edwards, of Elkton, Maryland; mother, Carol Traurig of Newark, Delaware; and sisters: Ann Marie Hobbs (Jim), Susan Traurig, Cathy LeJeune, Linda Musser (Ken), Joanna Pierce (Mike) and many nieces and nephews.

Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Traurig; daughter, Stephanie Edwards; nephew, Owen Pierce; and brother-in-law, Stephen LeJeune.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD at 11:00 a.m. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Elkton Cemetery.
