Linda Diane Shank, age 71, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Born in Wilmington, DE on November 17, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Corneila Kennedy.
Linda worked for over 30 years at DuPont, now called Siemens. She was an avid scrap booker and greeting card maker. Linda loved traveling, specifically taking road trips, to Disney World, Las Vegas, Cape May, and many other beaches; taking numerous pictures along the way and frequently stopping for a shopping trip. She was a big supporter of the Delaware Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Linda’s most cherished time was spent with her beloved friends, family, grandchildren, and her cat, Goober Girl.
Linda is survived by her son, Walt Shank and his wife, Jennifer, of Rising Sun, MD; daughter, Christine Cardenas and her husband, Cesar, of West Grove, PA; grandchildren: Katy Cardenas, Thomas Shank, Christian Cardenas, and Felicity Shank; and brother-in-law, Steve Majchrzak. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Shank; sister, Carol Majchrzak; and brother, James Kennedy.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held in May around mother’s day. Memorial contributions in Linda’s honor may be made payable to the “Helen F. Graham Cancer Center” and sent care of R.T. I'm so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. She was such a wonderful friend and co-worker. She had the greatest integrity and the highest standards. She made sure work was done but also ensured it was done as expected. She often co-lead staff meetings and took time to make sure everyone knew the expectations. She was funny but more importantly fun to work with. She was my rock. I will always cherish the time we spent. She will always be missed but never forgotten.

Linda was a great person, worker and friend. I have not had the pleasure of working with someone with Linda's integrity and outstanding work ethics. She was my so dedicated to making sure work was completed but completed the way in which it was supposed to get done. She was funny and had such a great humor but could also co-host staff meetings explaining to everyone how to do what needed to be done and would even perform the training. She was my rock and always provided her opinion to keep me on track. I will always remember and miss Linda. God Bless you Linda.
