Lillie Edna Abrams, age 98, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Kentmere Health Care and Rehab in Wilmington, DE.
She was born on July 26, 1917, in Newark DE to the late Lewis H. and Mary Ellen Wilson Sanders.
A lifelong resident of Delaware, she was a home maker who loved and cared for her husband, Charles, whom she married in 1939, and her children and later her grandchildren. In her later years, she would use her caretaker skills as a Nursing Assistant.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy A. McCall and her husband, Charles, of Newark, DE, and Kathie Ann Graves and her husband, Delbert, of Lufkin, TX; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Charles, a brother, Lewis Sanders, and three sisters, Mary Gallo, Phyllis Ann Carpenter, and Alice Ryan.
A Memorial service for Lillie will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:00AM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E. Basin Road, New Castle, DE 19701. A visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 10:00AM where family and friends are encouraged to attend. Burial will follow the service at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
