Lewis Carroll (Mac) McCannon, Jr., 64, of Aberdeen, MD, passed away April 28, 2014 at Harford Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

Mac was born on April 21, 1950 and was the son of the late Lewis C. McCannon, Sr. and Grace Rawlings McCannon. He attended Aberdeen High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a gun enthusiast.

Mac is survived by four brothers, Dennis R. McCannon (Linda) of Aberdeen, John H. McCannon of Aberdeen and Dr. Charles E. McCannon (Stephanie) of Darlington and two sisters, Toni M. McCannon of Myersville, MD and Terri E. Reese(Randy) of Port Deposit, MD and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Steven McCannon.

A service honoring his life will be held Thursday May 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 with a visitation Wednesday evening from 6 -8:00 p.m. or 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Harford Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in Mac’s memory may be made to The Charcot Marie-Tooth Association or Disabled American Veterans and mailed to the funeral home. .

Farewell Little Mac - old soldiers never die, they just fade away...

Mac you will be missed. Like my sister Carol said you were very smart and willing to share your knowledge. I still remember the times when we visit Uncle Mac and Aunt Grace and the fun that we had. In addition to being cousins we were also Vietnam bothers and while it maybe too late to say welcome home brother Iknow that you're going home where Uncle Mac and Aunt Grace will welcome you. I remember visiting Uncle Mac and Aunt Grace as a kid. We had some fun times with "Little Mac" and I remember him as a very bright child. One time he had a book about insects that he showed us- seemed like he always wanted to learn. In later years, when his mother visited us in Hawaii, she told us about his getting in trouble with the police because he was trying to warn drivers about a speed trap. Mac was one who cared about the underdog

I remember making food and taking it over to the house when Aunt Grace was alive, I made chicken pot pie a few times Aunt Grace and John enjoyed it and I thought Mac; however Mac told me on time he just could not understand why people would put chicken in a pie, he made me laugh. I think you all know Mac always said what was on his mind. RIP Mac

I am so sorry to hear about Little Mac passing. It has been a long time since I have seen u guys. I just want to let u know that my thoughts n prayers r with all of the family. We LOVE n miss you all.
