Laura Taylor Colona, age 82, passed away Monday, July 21, 2020. Laura was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 11, 1938 to the late Irwin C. Taylor and Hazel B. (Darlington) Taylor.
Laura was raised on Georgia Farm in West Chester, PA. She loved and was very proud of the farm and it provided a perfect atmosphere to raise children and spend time with her family. The farm is now opened to the public and is a part of the Stroud Preserve. Laura raised her family in Wilmington, DE. After raising her family, she moved to Florida where she lived for 5 years to care for her elderly in-laws. She absolutely loved Florida and collecting seashells. Laura also enjoyed sewing and cross stitching.
Laura is survived by her sons: Gary Fender (Terry), Charlie Fender (Mary), Steve Fender (Jennifer) and 9 grandchildren: David, Bryce, Emily, Charla, Pierce, Anthony, Joseph, Ryan and Taylor; 2 great grandchildren: Jayden and Boyce; sister, Dorothy McClintock; 2 nephews: Michael and Robert McClintock and niece, Michelle McClintock. Laura loved her family very much.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may start visiting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held immediately after at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery, 1235 Birmingham Road, West Chester, PA 19382. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “United For Her” which supports women’s cancer and send in care of the funeral home.
