So sad to hear about Laura just today, while at Big Sky, Montana. I went to sign up for another private ski lesson with her because she had been my instructor during my last visit in December 2019. Laura was so patient, thoughtful and kind .... a genuine gentle soul. Although I only spent a couple days with her, she truly made a lasting impression and I will be forever grateful for her kind spirit. Heaven gained a special angel. Rest In Peace Laura, until we meet again. My condolences to Judy, to all the Herr family and to Laura's many friends.

I'm so very sorry to see this. Our families were members of the Catholic break off group, Christian Family Movement back in Levittown. My mother, Ann Brown, truly loved Jackie as a compatriot. Laura was always a force of nature so I was curious as to what she was up to. So sorry she didn't get to enjoy her 60s, 70s and beyond. Sending light and affection to her family. May you find peace and comfort as you grieve.

Another Ski Diva friend here. I'll think of Laura and the few times we skied together at the end of every perfect ski day, especially when sitting outside in the sun with a nice apres ski beverage. My condolences to her family and friends.

I knew Laura for over 3 decades. She was so kind, intelligent and talented. A gift to all who knew her. I will smile when I hear the wind in the trees and when the first snow falls as I think she would want all of her friends to do. Thank you for your friendship Wawi. Love to Judy her family and many friends.

I met Laura many years ago thru Judy. She had a great smile and infectious laugh. But her positive outlook and kindness is what I will remember the most about her. She always seemed to brIng out the good in people and that's so hard to find nowadays. She fought a long, hard battle with grace. Much love to Judy, her family and friends. May eternal peace be granted to her and may perpetual light shine upon her.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I played in Gossamer Wings with Laura and she was a joy to be with! So talented and caring. I was deeply saddened when she got sick but inspired by the awesome way she handled it for so long. I'm heartbroken that she finally lost the battle but I will always cherish our time together and the imprint she left on my heart. Deepest condolences to Judy and her whole family.....rest well Munchkin!

So sad, my condolences to Judy and Laura's family and many friends. She was the best of the best- I'm glad I was able to ski with her, share a beer or 2, and enjoy her company. My photo was from a Ski Diva trip when I met Laura- she was an awesome skier, teacher and sailor. I hope heaven has given her endless powder runs and wind for her sails. Heaven gained a true angel.

I am so sad to hear of Laura's passing. She was one of the kindest souls I've ever known. Her zest for life was infectious, and I'm glad I had the good fortune to share some adventures with her. I admired Laura's strength and humility and dreams of a more just world. She touched the hearts of many, and I'm a better person for having known her. Rest in peace, Laura. You are loved.

I only knew Laura from her contributions to EpicSki.com and the old PSIA Community forum and more recently on Pugski.com. Her take on skiing technique was refreshing because it did not follow current trends. I will miss her contributions as well as the private messaging which we occasionally shared. And now I definitely need to book a lesson with her mentor, Ursula Howland, at Big Sky. Tim Hodgson, PSIA Alpine Level II, Kirkwood, CA. I listed myself as a "co-worker," not because Laura and I ever worked side-by-side, but because we shared the love of living in the mountains and teaching alpine skiing and her contributions made me a better instructor. Love to her family, friends and spouse.

While I only knew Laura through The Ski Diva and my trips to Big Sky, she made a lasting impression on me, and I will keep her smile and guidance in my heart forever. When I have the opportunity to return to Big Sky, I will smile extra broad coming down Lone Peak with the memory of her showing me the best line down, and appreciate that Cold Smoke at the base that much more. Rest easy Laura and hugs to all that knew and loved her.

I too only knew Laura from an online ski forum, but her voice was one of clarity, wisdom and confidence in her ideas. I always participated in conversations she was involved in and saw her as a kindred spirit. Knowing someone can take many forms these days, I never met her, heard her voice, saw her smile, in fact I never even saw a picture of her until now. Most of all I never skied with her. I wish so much that I had had that opportunity. I know she brought joy to her students, there's no doubt in my mind about that -- and enriched their lives greatly. RIP Laura.
