One of the nicest, kindest, sweetest persons I have ever known, and I am happy to have had the opportunity to know Laurie, or, as I called her, Pookie.
Jeff Zurek and Darla Zurek left a message on October 24, 2013:
Laura was always so kind and loving. Her sincere and peaceful demeanor was very pleasant. I will never forget her smile and laugh which was contagious and pleasing to all. May her light now shine with the light of Christ and comfort her family throughout their lives. Jeff Aunt Laura was my Godmother, and she will always hold a special place in my heart. She had a way with words...simple...yet so meaningful. When Jeff's dad passed away in January she sent us a card. It said "Sadness does not last....Love does." I have kept those few simple words in my heart. I hope that they help you. Love and prayers, Darla

Words cannot express the disbelief that I share with so many in knowing that Laurie has passed. She was always there with a ready smile and could make you laugh when things seemed at their worst. She had the gift of making everyone feel special and she did it with such grace. I know her family and friends were all she asked for in this life. Know that words cannot express the sadness I feel. May each day and each memory give you some peace and comfort at this time. She will be missed by so many. Love to you all.

My words will be inadequate on your loss of your dear Wife, Mom, Grandmom, Aunt, Sister and friend. There are no words to take away the pain you are feeling, but know you are in my daily thoughts and prayers. Please know she is at Peace with Our Maker. There will be a big whole in your hearts with her absence -- she was full of fun, love and life. Life is beautiful ---- so too is the after life. May you find comfort through your Faith. With greatest affection, Bob and Carole Lee Waslick

My sincere condolences to the family on Laura's passing. She was an avid volleyball fan and could be seen regularly, along with Tom and the boys, cheering on the Yellowjackets at her daughter Traci's matches. She was also an important member of the NHS Volleyball Boosters. She will be be sorely missed by her family and friends.

I'm shaken to the core so can't imagine the shock and loss your family is experiencing. It's unfathomable because your life force could move mountains. I don't know what to say. I'm so lucky to have known you.

Laurie has been a blessing to me for 36 years. From the minute my family moved into the house across the street, we were family in spirit. She was an extraordinary woman whose loving, simple nature made her a role model for all. She was content with all the twists and turns that life sometimes throws at you, handling it with such grace. For all these years we shared laughter, tears, children, pots of tea and even shoes. On the 25th anniversary of my breast cancer diagnosis ( which I had forgotten about), she sent me flowers to celebrate. Yes, she is one special lady! My wish for everyone is that they are lucky enough to have a Laura Tomashek in their life. Then they too will be blessed. Joan Klockars
