Kirk Q. Adams of Rising Sun, MD died on January 5, 2019. He was 91 years old.
Born on March 15, 1927 in Springfield, Massachusetts and graduated from Springfield’s Technical High School in 1944, he subsequently served in the army during the latter part of World War II. Following his discharge, he worked at Monsanto Chemical Company in Springfield and later attended the University of Michigan where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1953.
He was then employed as a Foundry Engineer and later as a Quality Control and Welding Engineer for a Johnson Controls Inc. facility in Compton, California. A manufacturer of piping assemblies, pressure vessels, and expansion joints, for the power generation and oil refinery industries. He retired in 1987, when the facility was closed.
He is survived by his son, Kirk J. Adams (Eunhee) of Elkton, MD; daughter, Auralynn A. Kelly (Michael) of Lake Forest, CA; grandchildren: Jonathan P. Adams of Colorado Springs, CO and Jennifer S. Moxley of Aberdeen, MD; and great grandchildren: Alexander K. Adams, Daphne J. Adams, and Nova Raine Moxley.
No service is planned and burial arrangements are under the direction of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A.
