Katherine Bibik, 90, of Newark, DE, formerly of Fayetteville, NY, passed away peacefully Friday, July 10, 2015 at Somerford House and Place in Newark, DE.

Born November 14, 1924 in Cooperstown, NY, Katherine was the daughter of the late Philip and Jennie Garitz. Katherine was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville, NY and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. In her free time, Katherine enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was known for baking cookies for everyone during the Christmas season.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Janice Bibik of Newark, DE as well as her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Vincent T. Bibik who passed away December 9, 2008; in addition to her three brothers, and her sister.

A visitation will be held from 9-10am on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E Genesee St, Fayetteville, NY 13066. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St, Fayetteville, NY 13066. Katherine will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Richfield Springs, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Alzheimer’s Association and sent in care to R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
