Judith Ann Guy, “Judy”, age 87 of North East, MD passed away on July 6, 2026. She was born on August 13, 1938 in Honolulu, HI to the late William Henry Penhollow and Jane Cecelia (Sylvia) Penhollow.
Judy was a woman whose greatest joy was her family and whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who never missed an opportunity to cheer on those she loved. Whether it was a school event, sporting event, or any special milestone, she could always be found in the stands, proudly supporting her children and grandchildren. Her unwavering love and encouragement created memories that will be treasured forever.
An athlete herself, Judy enjoyed playing volleyball and softball, carrying that same team spirit throughout her life. She became a mother not only to her own children, but to countless young athletes and families through her years of involvement with North East Little League. She was also a dedicated member of the North East Touchdown Club, where she supported local youth and school athletics with enthusiasm and pride.
A faithful member of North East United Methodist Church, Judy served as a Sunday School teacher, sharing her faith, compassion, and wisdom with generations of children. Her gentle heart and servant’s spirit reflected her deep love for God and her community.
She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved country music, spent countless hours tending her beautiful garden, and looked forward each year to participating in the Cecil County Fair. Her homemade pickles awarded her a well-deserved first-place ribbon and the admiration of everyone fortunate enough to taste them.
Perhaps what Judy will be remembered for most was her welcoming heart. Her door was always open, her kitchen table always had room for one more, and everyone who entered her home was treated like family. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved, accepted, and cared for. Her generosity, warm smile, and selfless nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her open door, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to others will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her children: Cynthia T. Guy, Clifford T. Guy, Jr. (Ann), and John William Guy (Michell); grandchildren: Clifford Thomas Guy, III, Lauren Annmarie Conners, Hannah Louise O’Brian, Erin Hunter Hanson, Mikhaila L. Clark, and Morgan L. Clark; great-grandchildren: Elianah Raizel Conners, Charlie Louise O’Brian, Jackson Thomas O’Brian, and Kenneth Clifford Hanson; and a host of nephews and nieces.
