Joseph R. Class, 53, of Colora, MD passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after his courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 4, 1961 in Baltimore, MD, Joe was the son of Raymond E. and Kathleen E. Class. Joe was and accomplished plasterer and drywall mechanic, however, his true passion was working with thoroughbred race horses and he trained them professionally. Joe loved fishing, animals, and working in his vegetable gardens; he was also an avid Ravens and Orioles fan. Joe was a jokester at heart and could always make those around him laugh. Joe cherished his time spent with his family and friends; he will be deeply missed.
Including his parents, Joe is survived by his daughter, Korin Class; brother, Raymond W. Class and his wife, Lisa; sister, Theresa Haupt and her husband, Chris; and many nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Class.
A memorial services will be held in Joe’s honor at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the New Life Faith Center, 1820 Jacob Tome Highway, Port Deposit, MD 21904, where family and friends may visit beginning at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made payable to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Joe was a friend with a genuine, good heart and a zest for life. He was an artist with plaster and took great pride in his work. One of the things that impressed me most about him was that after visiting with him, he wouldn't let you leave without giving you a hug and telling you he loved you. I'll miss you, my brother.
