Joseph “Joe” Michael McAndrew

Joseph Michael McAndrew, “Joe,” age 66, of Elkton, MD, passed away on July 6, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1959 in Scranton, PA to the late John McAndrew and Ruth McAndrew (Weller).

Joe graduated from Scranton Central High School in 1977 and completed the remainder of his higher education between Slippery Rock University and Hofstra University. Joe spent his early career as a geologist working for Duffield  Associates in Newark, DE and eventually founded Ten Bears Environmental with a few close colleagues.

In his spare time, Joe took pleasure in boating, fishing, and wine making. He spent many of his later years reading, writing narrative stories, and reminiscing with old friends at golf excursions. Friends and family would best describe him as funny, kind, and light-hearted. He enjoyed staying in touch with friends from all different stages of his life. Joe will be remembered for his storytelling, positive demeanor, and near-incessant humor.

Joe is survived by his wife, Carol McAndrew, children: Michelle McAndrew and Daniel McAndrew; brother, Larry McAndrew; and sister, Rosemary McAndrew. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brother, John McAndrew.

Services for Joe will be held privately.
