Joseph Henry Mischler Sr.

Joseph Henry Mischler, Sr., 83, of Rising Sun, MD, entered into the Lord’s presence on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was born on February 23, 1940 in Wilmington, DE to the late Jerome John Mischler and Lillian Mischler (Shackell).

Joe apprenticed as a carpenter at age 17 and was one of the youngest members inducted into Local 626 Carpenters Union of Delaware. He began his career as a carpenter and advanced to Superintendent throughout the years, working on many recognizable large projects in Northern DE, NJ, and PA.  He retired after 55 years of dedicated service.

Joe and his wife, Linda, purchased a small farm in 1969 and began raising their family with a focus on home and small-town values. Joe had a keen interest in classic Farmall tractors, Hereford cattle and vintage Lionel Trains.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Lee Gray Williams Mischler; children: Janet, Linda, Debbie, Jim, Joe Jr., and their families. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his sisters: Arlene Buoncore, Helen Ross and brother, Jerry Mischler.

Services for Joe will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you pass on a random act of kindness to someone in need.
