Joseph C. Biggs, 76, of Chesapeake City, Maryland, passed away on September 11, 2026. Born in Elkton, Maryland, on June 28, 1950, Joe was the cherished son of the late Russell Biggs and Cordella Biggs (née Layne). He shared 57 years of devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Anna Biggs (née Moore). 

A hardworking man of strong character and quiet determination, Joe took deep pride in providing for his family. He began his career as a skilled wooden boat painter at Bay Boat Works in North East, Maryland, before dedicating 25 years to General Motors in the Skilled Trades Division. Known for his tireless work ethic, he often worked double shifts, seven days a week, to support those he loved. 

Beyond his working life, Joe found joy in life’s simpler pleasures, especially time spent with family and friends. He loved swimming in the pool he built at home, which became a cherished gathering place for parties, celebrations, and countless family get-togethers. He also enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay, fishing, and crabbing. A familiar face at JoJo’s Diner in Elkton, Joe started many mornings there with breakfast and good conversation among friends. 

Above all, Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Kind and generous by nature, he never hesitated to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. His strong work ethic, open-hearted generosity, and genuine care for others left a lasting mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. 

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, John Biggs, and his sister, Carol Reynolds. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Biggs; his children, Lisa Walmsley (Heath), Rae Patchell (Craig), and Allen Biggs; his grandchildren, Kersha Haden, Joeanna Kennedy, Sean Meekins, and Alexis Biggs; 15 great-grandchildren; his brother, Russell Biggs, Jr.; his faithful dog, Bella; and many extended family members and friends. 

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, Maryland. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery
