Joseph Brian Doordan

Joseph “Joe” Brian Doordan, age 58, of Newark, Delaware passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. He was born on March 4, 1965, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Bernard Patrick Doordan, Sr. and Harriette McGuire Doordan.

Joe graduated from St. Marks High School in 1983 and later graduated from the University of Delaware. He worked for MBNA, which later became Bank of America, where he retired in 2023. Joe was the type of person who would help anyone in need. His friends and family commonly referred to him as someone who would give his shirt off his back to those who needed it more. We remember Joe as a die-hard Notre Dame fan, fisherman, and a loving and supportive father who always cheered on his children. One of Joe’s favorite things to do was to watch his children play sports as he was at every event.

Joe is survived by his former spouse, Annemarie Doordan; children: Charles Doordan, Samuel Doordan, and Haley Doordan; brothers: Patrick Doordan, Terry Doordan (Debbie), and Marty Doordan (Chris); sister, Mary Anne Shank, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.

Services for Joe will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “atTAcK addiction” and sent in care of R.T.
