Jon Phillip Slade, 55, of Earleville, MD, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Born in Brockton, MA, on May 23, 1969, he was the beloved son of the late William Slade, Sr., and Elaine Moats (née Dean).
Jon was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, and Michael Jordan’s legendary career with the Chicago Bulls. His passion for sports extended to an impressive collection of memorabilia, particularly trading cards, which he took great pride in curating. Music was another cornerstone of his life—his tastes ranged from the timeless melodies of Elton John to the powerful lyrics of Tupac Shakur, reflecting his vibrant and eclectic personality.
Jon had a remarkable ability to bring laughter to those around him. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, he could lighten any room with a joke, even in the face of his illness. Family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with his daughters and grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.
Jon will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory lives on in the hearts of his loving family: his daughters, Courtney Slade and her partner, Kris Chaney; Kaitlyn Slade and her partner, Colby Taylor; and Ashley Brown and husband Justin; as well as his treasured grandchildren, Braeden, Madison, Mason, and McKenna. He is also survived by his siblings, Lori Wilson and her husband, David; Bonnie Gadoua and her partner, Mike; William Slade, Jr. and his wife, Robin, William Slade, Jr. and his wife Jill, Scott Mahan and his wife, Angela. Additionally, Jon leaves behind his long-time companion and devoted caregiver, Dawn Robinson, as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends.
