Johnsie C. Madron, age 93, of Rising Sun, MD passed away at Calvert Manor Health Center on October 5, 2012.
Johnsie was born July 13, 1919 in Boone, NC to Graydon & Emma (Thomas) Campbell. Throughout her career she was employed by the Budd Co. in Newark, DE, Jay Dee Dept. Store in Oxford, PA, and the Sun Pharmacy in Rising Sun, MD. Johnsie enjoyed traveling with Cecil Travelers going on many trips throughout the Eastern Coast. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to everyone at Calvert Manor Health Center for all they did for Johnsie.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia M. Shires of Port Deposit, MD and Linda Sue Harrington and her husband, Nicholas of Port Deposit, MD; son, Jackie Glenn Madron and his wife, Debbie of Port Orange, FL; sister, Ruth Eggers of Rising Sun, MD; 9 grandchildren, Tina and Chris Shires, Lynn King, Joyce Martin, Montica McDonald, Michael Madron, Curtis and Robert Holbrook, and Vickey Alexitch; 13 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.
Johnsie was predeceased by her loving husband, John C. Madron; daughter, Judy L. Holbrook; and brother, Carl Campbell.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Nicholas Harrington on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11am with a visitation from 10-11am at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Burial to follow at West Nottingham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association c/o the funeral home.
