John T. Killian, 55, of Colora, MD passed away suddenly Saturday, August 15, 2015. Born November 10, 1959 in Inchon, South Korea, John was the son of Doo Hwan (Chang) Killian and the late Howard Lloyd Killian, Jr. John attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute graduating in 1978 then furthering his education at Loyola University Maryland, graduating with a degree in Chemistry in 1982. John spent his career working alongside his family pursing various interests.
John’s greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. He would spend hours and hours entertaining the kids, whether it was camping out on the hill or the back yard, fishing or tramping thru the creek, or staying up way passed bed time, John never would tell any of the kids no. He loved bringing joy to those he loved. He found passion in his beliefs and loved to debate his views with those that differed. Those of us who love John have lived to protect and care for him when he didn’t know he needed it, you know he is SuperMan in the eyes of the children who love him.
John is survived by his wife, Shelby Killian; daughters, Doohwanna and Haleigh Killian; mother, Doo Hwan Killian; brother, Howard Lloyd Killian, III; sister, Lois Meyers; nephews, John and Thomas Killian and Ethan Carroll; and his sister-in-law, Jessica Chaillou. John was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lloyd Killian, Jr.
A service will be held in John’s honor at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
