John Seaman, 93, of Elkton, MD, passed away November 20, 2014 at Union Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Born in Cologne, Germany on March 10, 1921, John was the son of the late George and Meta Seaman. He came to the United States in 1937 and fought with the Americans during the Second World war in the European Theatre with the US 9th Army, Tank Destroyers from 1942-1946 and Civil Affairs Military Government after the war. John lived in Queens, NY until 1955 and received his B.S. in Accounting from City College of New York and then moved to Elkton, Maryland and worked for the DuPont Corporation as an accountant and thereafter the Chrysler Organization until 1974. John then started Eastern Shore Accounting, where he worked until retirement. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Mathilde Schuler Seaman; two sons, Roy G. Seaman of Wilmington, DE, and Perry J. Seaman of Newark, DE; a daughter Barbara Richardson and her husband Andrew; and two grandchildren, Emily Kyewski and Monica Seaman. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Seaman who died in 2013.
A visitation will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main St., Elkton, MD 21921 on Tuesday November 25, 2014 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and mailed to the funeral home.
