John “Jack” Patrick Curran, age 75, of Elkton, MD passed away after a short illness on March 11, 2016. Jack was born on February 26, 1941 to the late, John H. Curran and Dorothy (Klonowski) Curran in Wilmington, DE.
Jack served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper and Ranger. He was a military advisor in Vietnam multiple times. He retired from the Wilmington Police Force and then started his second career purchasing at JP Morgan Bank. He later retired and moved to Florida where he purchased for Collier County Government. He enjoyed photography, reading, boating, and fishing.
Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Curran of Elkton, MD; son, Jack Curran of Elkton, MD; grandsons: Cody Curran, Colton Curran, and James Dowd, Jr. and his wife, Shannon; great-grandchildren: Bailey Dowd and Ethan Dowd; and brother, Ed Curran and his wife, Fran of Wilmington, DE.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Curran and brothers: James Curran and Daniel Curran.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 8:00 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. A visitation will begin two hours prior to the service beginning at 6:00 PM. A burial for Jack will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware 19701. Family and friends are to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM where they will then leave in procession to the cemetery.
