John Elwood Howard, 62, of Newark, DE (formerly of Endicott, NY & Orlando, FL), passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was born on December 19, 1955 in Endicott, NY to Shirley Arlene (Gritman) Howard and the late Bernard Elwood Howard.
John graduated from Tompkins Community College in Ithaca, NY. He worked for IBM for 35 years, starting out in shipping and receiving, moving on to the chemical plant, before going into accounting. John retired from IBM Endicott, NY in 2011 and moved to Orlando, FL to pursue his passion for Harley-Davidson. He attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and went on to work for Orlando Harley-Davidson until 2017. John loved music, movies and Harley-Davison, but the most important thing in his life was always his son, Aaron.
John is survived by his son, Aaron Howard and his wife, Liz; two grandchildren: Alexander and Lillian Howard; mother, Shirley Howard; five siblings: Patti Howard, Paul Howard and his wife, Angel, Sue Howard, Diane Benjamin and her husband, Paul, Debbie Howard and her long-time companion, Rich Spallone; former spouse and very good friend, Sandie LaDieu; and many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his father, Bernard Howard.
A memorial service in John’s honor will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Endicott Church of the Nazarene, 1381 Union Center Maine Hwy, Endicott, NY 13760. Family and friends may begin visiting at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please bring a favorite photo of John.

I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. John was a good man I remember him playing the drums for the church group and also one time I spent overnite at the Howard house he gave me a ride on his motorcycle was very cool I think I was about 12.
